How to Connect Claude (Anthropic), Grok (xAI), and Other AI Assistants to 101

Connect 101 to Claude (Anthropic), Grok (xAI), or another AI assistant and ask questions about your projects, tasks, and finances directly in its chat.

What is MCP?

MCP, a way of connecting AI to 101 data and actions, lets an assistant retrieve information from 101 and perform available actions at your request. You do not need to write a program for a standard connection.

Connection address:

https://app.101-group.ru/mcp

Copy the entire address without a trailing slash. It is the same for all assistants.

What you need

  • Your own 101 account. The assistant will only gain access to data you can access in 101.
  • An account with your chosen assistant: Claude (Anthropic), Grok (xAI), ChatGPT (OpenAI), Codex (OpenAI), or another app that supports this kind of connection.
  • Administrator permission if your work account restricts external connections. Availability also depends on the rules and plan of your chosen service.

Choose what you want to connect:

How to connect Claude (Anthropic)

Add the connection on the Claude website or in its desktop app. Setup from a phone is still in beta, meaning it is still being refined. If your phone has no add button, set up the connection on the website from a computer.

  1. Open Customize → Connectors, the customization and connections section.
  2. Add your own web connection: Add → Custom → Web. In another menu version, this option is called Add custom connector.
  3. Enter the name 101 and the address https://app.101-group.ru/mcp. Click Continue if this button is shown.
  4. Choose the offered sign-in through your 101 account, sign in, and grant access. Click Continue if the wizard offers further steps. Finish by clicking Add. If sign-in when needed is selected, Claude will offer it the first time you ask to use 101.
  5. In the chat, open + → Connectors and enable 101. Write: “Use 101. Show the companies available to me. Do not change anything.”

Use sign-in to your 101 account. No sign in is not suitable for this connection. You do not need to invent secret keys.

Claude Free lets you add one custom connection. In Team, the workspace owner adds it first. In Enterprise, an owner or a member with the required permissions does so. Each user then connects their own 101 account.

Menu names may vary. For details, see the official Claude connector instructions and guidance for different devices.

How to connect Grok (xAI)

On your computer

  1. Sign in to your Grok account and open Connectors, the connections section.
  2. Click New Connector, then Custom.
  3. Paste the address https://app.101-group.ru/mcp.
  4. When Grok offers to sign in to 101, sign in to your own 101 account and grant the requested access. Then return to Grok.
  5. In the chat, write: “Use 101. Show which user I am connected as and which companies I can access. Do not change anything.”

How to know it worked: Grok will show your data from 101. If you have several companies, name the one you need and ask to see its projects. A general description of 101’s capabilities without retrieving your data does not yet confirm the connection.

On your phone

  1. Open Grok connections in your phone’s browser and sign in to your Grok account.
  2. Tap New Connector, then Custom.
  3. Paste the address https://app.101-group.ru/mcp.
  4. When prompted to sign in to 101, sign in to your own 101 account and grant access. Return to Grok using the same account where you added the connection.
  5. Write: “Use 101. Show which user I am connected as and which companies I can access. Do not change anything.”

How to know it worked: the response will contain your data from 101. Choose the company you need and ask for its projects. These steps apply to your phone’s browser; menus in the Grok app may differ.

In Grok Business and Enterprise, an administrator first adds the server in the team console: Grok Business → Connectors → + Add Connector → Other, the option for adding another server. Each member then signs in to their own 101 account.

For details, see the Grok connector instructions and administrator instructions.

How to connect ChatGPT (OpenAI)

The easiest way is to install the ready-made 101 plugin for ChatGPT. That guide includes steps for phones and computers. You will not need to enter a server address.

How to add a server manually

Use this method if you want to create your own connection. It is performed on the ChatGPT website and depends on your work account permissions and security restrictions.

  1. Sign in to ChatGPT and open Plugins.
  2. Click + and select Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter the name 101 and a short description, such as “Working with 101 data”.
  4. In the Connection section, find the Server URL field and paste https://app.101-group.ru/mcp. Select OAuth, sign-in through your 101 account.
  5. Check I understand and want to continue and click Create as a plugin.
  6. Install the connection you created. When ChatGPT offers to sign in to 101, sign in to your own account and grant access.
  7. Start a new chat with 101 and perform the connection check.

The procedure is described in the current OpenAI custom server instructions. Installing the ready-made plugin and manually creating a connection are different methods, and their availability may differ.

How to connect Codex (OpenAI)

Configure the server on the computer where Codex runs.

In the Codex app

  1. Open Settings → MCP servers, the connection servers section.
  2. Click Add server. Enter the name 101.
  3. Select Streamable HTTP, a connection through a web address, and paste https://app.101-group.ru/mcp.
  4. Save the setting. Restart Codex if prompted.
  5. Click Authenticate when this button appears. In the window that opens, sign in to 101 and grant access.
  6. Start a conversation and perform the connection check.

Using terminal commands

For people using Codex CLI, the terminal program

Add the server, sign in to 101, and check the connection list:

codex mcp add 101 --url https://app.101-group.ru/mcp
codex mcp login 101
codex mcp list

The sign-in command opens a 101 window. If the server is already added, you do not need to repeat the first command. You can also use the sign-in command when sign-in does not start from the app.

To configure through a file, open ~/.codex/config.toml, the default Codex settings file in your user folder, and add this entry:

[mcp_servers."101"]
url = "https://app.101-group.ru/mcp"

For details, see the official Codex instructions.

How to connect another assistant

First check whether the app supports remote MCP connections, which connect to external services, and OAuth, sign-in through your 101 account. Not every assistant supports these.

  1. Find the connections or integrations section in the assistant’s settings.
  2. Add your own server. Enter the name 101 and the address https://app.101-group.ru/mcp.
  3. If you need to choose a connection method, use Streamable HTTP, a connection through a web address.
  4. Complete the offered 101 sign-in and grant access.
  5. Return to the chat and perform the check below.

Field and button names depend on the app. If it does not support this sign-in or connection method, the address alone is not enough.

How to check the connection

Start with a question that does not change anything:

“Use 101. Show which user I am connected as and which companies I can access. Do not change anything.”

If there are several companies, name the one you need. Then ask to see its projects or your open tasks. The answer must contain real data from 101. A description of what the assistant can do does not by itself mean that sign-in is complete.

You do not need to create a financial event for the first check. You can also ask: “Which 101 actions are available to you in this chat?”

What you can do after connecting

The assistant receives its exact set of actions from 101 when it connects. That set may change; not every action is available in every app.

  • Company: find out which user is signed in, find a member, and retrieve company information.
  • Projects: find accessible projects and view their members.
  • Finances: view events, estimates, reports, bills, receipts of funds, transfers, balances, and price lists. Creation and changes are only available where the corresponding tool exists.
  • Tasks: find tasks and comments and make available changes, including changes to several tasks.
  • Knowledge base: search and read materials and perform available text and publication actions.
  • Documents: start available document creation.

Where to start

Find out what is happening in a project

Ask the assistant to find a project and show its events, tasks, and members. If names match, clarify the company and site; the assistant must not choose at random.

Review tasks

Ask it to find an assignee and show their tasks by deadline and status. Before changing a task or adding a comment, check that the correct record and text are selected.

Review finances

Start by viewing confirmed events. Ask for your balance and the balances of the responsible person, project, and counterparty to be shown separately. An assistant’s proposal does not mean that a financial transaction has been performed.

Ask it to find the instructions or policy you need. Before editing or publishing, check the page, the new text, and who will be able to see it.

How sign-in and data access work

Sign-in through your 101 account is called OAuth, authorization without giving your password to the assistant. Enter your password on the 101 side, not in a message to the AI.

The assistant acts on your behalf with your permissions. It does not gain access to other people’s companies or projects. Your role, selected company, and permissions for specific data are taken into account.

What permissions a connection may request
  • profile — identify who signed in;
  • company.read — read accessible company data;
  • finance.read — read accessible financial data;
  • company.write — make available changes.

These permissions set the general boundaries. On every request, 101 additionally checks the user, app, access expiration and purpose, company, and permission to perform the action.

How to ask the assistant to change something

Specify the company, project, record, and new values. If you only want to discuss an edit for now, write: “Do not change anything yet.”

A confirmation does not appear before every change. Some tools execute the request immediately; others first show the proposed change. If a confirmation appears, review it carefully.

After execution, ask the assistant to reread the record and check the result in 101. “I’ll do it now” does not mean the data has already been saved.

Which event actions are unavailable

AI cannot delete an event or change its status: confirm, accept, reject, or reset the status. This applies to both text messages and voice requests, in external assistants and in the 101 chat.

Perform these actions yourself in 101 through a browser. Consent or confirmation in the chat does not replace an action in the app.

If you cannot connect

  • The server cannot be added. Check the address: https://app.101-group.ru/mcp, without a trailing slash. The app must support the specified connection method.
  • The 101 sign-in does not open. Allow the browser pop-up and check your connection and work account restrictions.
  • The company or project you need is missing. Check which 101 account you signed in to and whether it can access this data.
  • The action you need is missing. Refresh the list of available tools. The connection may not support this action yet. For a custom integration, check the capabilities of the public API, the programmatic interface.
  • The confirmation has expired. Ask to see the proposed change again and check it before confirming again. If the parameters have changed, do not use the old confirmation.
  • Codex cannot see 101. Check the list with codex mcp list and restart Codex.
  • Claude or Grok does not offer to add a connection. Check your account and workspace rules. An administrator may need to add it first.

If sign-in returns an error, send support the assistant’s name and the error text without passwords, codes, or tokens, which are access secrets.

What to check while working

  • Use only the connection address given at the beginning of this article.
  • Do not send passwords, sign-in codes, tokens, or confirmation keys to the chat. Do not show them in screenshots.
  • Do not ask the assistant to confirm all actions automatically.
  • If an unexpected company or project appears, stop and clarify which data the assistant is working with.
  • Before a financial transaction, check its type and effect on the balance.
  • Follow your company’s rules for AI use and data storage.

How to disconnect access

  1. Remove or disable 101 in your chosen assistant’s connection settings.
  2. If the app offers a separate sign-out from your 101 account, use it.
  3. If you suspect that an unauthorized person has gained access, revoke it in 101 and change your password. Also disable access on someone else’s device or a lost device.
  4. Check that the assistant can no longer access 101 tools in a new chat.

What to keep in mind

  • Connecting does not extend your permissions in 101.
  • The assistant may propose an action, but you must check whether it was performed.
  • An AI answer does not replace a bank statement, an accounting system, or checking source documents.
  • The connection requires a suitable app with remote MCP, a connection to an external service, Streamable HTTP, the supported connection method, and OAuth, sign-in through your 101 account.
  • The ability to create a connection depends on the rules, plan, and security restrictions of the chosen service.

How this differs from the public API

MCP, connecting AI to 101, is suited to working through chat. The assistant receives a set of ready-made actions and performs them in response to your messages.

Developers use the API, programmatic access to 101, to exchange data and build custom integrations. They create the program and the process for confirming changes themselves.

These are different ways of working. Their capabilities do not have to match: an action missing from the assistant may exist in the API, and vice versa.

Where else to find connection instructions in 101

In 101, open “Products and solutions” and click “Connect” on the “101 MCP server” card. Instructions with the server address and authorization procedure will open. Opening these instructions alone does not connect an external client.
