101 Plugin for ChatGPT (OpenAI): How to Connect and Use It

The 101 plugin lets you work with 101 data directly in ChatGPT (OpenAI). Describe what you need: review expenses, find tasks, or prepare an estimate.

Any 101 user can connect the plugin to their account.

Open the 101 plugin in ChatGPT (OpenAI)

In the ChatGPT directory, the plugin is called “101”. Its developer is 101.

What you can do with the plugin

Review finances: compare income and expenses, check balances, and get tables and charts.
Work with tasks: find projects and counterparties, create tasks, change deadlines, and add comments.
Prepare estimates: find items in the price list and create and edit estimates.
Search company knowledge: find instructions and create and update knowledge base pages.

What you need

A ChatGPT (OpenAI) account. A paid subscription is not required for the 101 plugin. Your plan limits, country restrictions, and work account policies still apply.
Your own 101 account. The chat will only have access to data you can access in 101.
On your phone: the ChatGPT app and a browser. On your computer: a browser or the ChatGPT app.

If you do not have ChatGPT yet, first prepare your account and install the app. If everything is ready, proceed to connecting.

How to connect the 101 plugin

Choose your device. The plugin opens through a link, so you do not need to enter a server address.

On your phone

On your phone: iPhone or Android

Open the 101 plugin page in your phone’s browser. Sign in to the same ChatGPT account you use in the app.
Tap “Install plugin” or the “+” button on the 101 card.
When ChatGPT offers to connect 101, sign in to your 101 account in the window that opens and grant access. This prompt may appear during installation or the first time you ask to use 101.
Return to the ChatGPT app and start a new chat. Use the same account you used for installation. If you have personal and work spaces in ChatGPT, choose the one where the plugin is installed.
Write: “Use 101. Show which company I am connected to and list the available projects. Do not change anything.”

How to know it worked: ChatGPT will show your company and available projects from 101. You can now ask your own questions in this chat.

On your computer

On your computer: a browser or the ChatGPT (OpenAI) app

Sign in to ChatGPT and open the 101 plugin page. In the app, you can also open “Plugins” and find 101.
Click “Install plugin” or “+” on the 101 card.
When ChatGPT offers to connect, sign in to your 101 account and grant access. If you were not prompted during installation, the prompt may appear the first time you ask to use 101.
Start a new chat. Type @ and select 101, or begin your message with “Use 101”.
Write: “Show which company I am connected to in 101 and list the available projects. Do not change anything.”

How to know it worked: ChatGPT will show your company’s data from 101. You can move on to your own questions.

Where to start after connecting

Describe what you want to find out. For questions about a project or expenses, specify the name and period. For example:

Expenses: “Show the company’s income and expenses for last month. Include projects and the Company Fund. Compare them in a table and a chart.”
Debts: “Show whom we owe money to across projects and help prepare a payment plan for the week.”
Tasks: “Show my tasks for this week. Highlight overdue tasks separately.”
Estimate: “Help prepare an estimate using the company price list. First clarify the project, work items, and quantities.”
Instructions: “Find the work acceptance procedure in the company knowledge base and briefly list the steps.”

You can refine the answer with follow-up messages: “Analyze this project in more detail”, “Show the underlying transactions”, or “Explain how this amount was calculated”.

How to use voice on your phone

To work with 101 by voice, select “Standard” mode in the mobile ChatGPT app:

Open the ChatGPT app on your iPhone or Android phone.
Open “Settings” from the side menu or your profile.
Go to “Voice”.
Select “Standard” mode.
Return to the chat with 101, tap the voice icon in the message field, and say your request.

In this mode, ChatGPT turns speech into text, sends the request to the chat with 101, and prepares an answer.

For example: “Use 101. Show my overdue tasks for the ‘Office renovation’ project and name the people responsible.”

Menu names depend on the ChatGPT version, language, plan, region, and settings. If “Standard” mode is missing, update the app and check the available options under “Voice”.

How to use voice in your car

The 101 team has tested the plugin in CarPlay, which connects an iPhone to a car’s display and audio system. For example, you can ask it to name today’s tasks or prepare a project summary.

You need a compatible car, an iPhone running iOS 26.4 or later, and the current ChatGPT app.

Before driving, connect the plugin and test it in a chat. Select “Standard” voice mode using the instructions above.
Connect your iPhone to the car and open ChatGPT on the CarPlay display.
Select a recent chat with 101 and start a voice conversation.
Say: “Use 101. Tell me my tasks for today and highlight overdue tasks separately.”

The 101 plugin has not yet been confirmed to work with Android Auto, which connects an Android phone to a car. On your phone, you can dictate a message, check the text, and send it to the chat with 101.

What data and actions are available

ChatGPT only sees data you can access in 101. Connecting does not grant access to other people’s projects.

If ChatGPT asks you to confirm a change, review it first. The available actions depend on 101’s tools.

The plugin cannot delete financial events or change their statuses: confirm, accept, reject, or reset a status. Perform these actions yourself in 101 through a browser.

If you cannot connect

There is no install button on your phone. Open the plugin page in your phone’s browser. If that does not help, install it through a computer browser and return to the app using the same ChatGPT account.
The plugin is installed, but no data appears. Write “Use 101” and complete the 101 sign-in offered. Then start a new chat.
The wrong company appears or a project is missing. Check which 101 account you signed in to and whether it has access to the company and project you need.
Your work ChatGPT account does not allow plugin installation. Ask your administrator whether the 101 plugin is allowed.

How to get a detailed financial analysis

You can ask your own question even if 101 does not have a ready-made report for it. Describe what you want to find out, then refine the answer in the chat. ChatGPT uses the 101 data available to it.

What to include in your question

What to compare: the whole company, one project, or several sites.
Which period: give the dates. Clarify whether you need the estimate plan or actual transactions. Ask for these to be shown separately for comparison.
What to calculate: the customer price, cost, the difference between them, a separately accrued markup, or the company’s share. To calculate the company’s earnings, clarify which income and expenses to include.
How to group the data: by project, expense category, work item, stage, or period, if this information is recorded.
How to present the answer: as a table, chart, or explanation. Ask to see the underlying transactions, formula, and missing data.

You do not need to specify everything at once. Start with one question, then ask for a more detailed analysis of the part that interests you.

What determines the accuracy of the answer

The more complete your records in 101, the more detailed the answer. Comparing price and cost requires both amounts. Comparing types of work requires them to be recorded separately.

If expenses have not been entered, work items are combined into a single amount, or some data is unavailable, ChatGPT cannot reliably reconstruct the details. Ask it to list what is missing. An unknown amount is not zero, and an answer based on some transactions is not the total for the whole project.

The difference between price and cost, a separately accrued markup, the company’s share, and cash flow are different indicators. They cannot be substituted for each other or added together without checking the calculation. Read more about profit, cost, price, and markup (in Russian).

How to compare construction stages

In 101, one stage is one estimate within a project. To analyze a stage, compare the estimate with actual reports containing items linked to it. The plan and actual figures are shown separately. Read more about the relationship between a project, a stage, and an estimate (in Russian).

Ask for stages to be identified through the links between report items and estimates, rather than guessed from a name, tag, or date. If a report contains items from several estimates, split the amounts by those items. Show transactions with no link to an estimate separately. If the plugin cannot access the required links, the answer must say so.

Examples of construction questions

What do we earn money on? Compare the customer price and cost by type of work. Separately establish which portion is accrued to the company.
Where do we differ from the estimate? Compare stage estimates with reports for their items. Show transactions with no link to an estimate separately.
Why do similar sites produce different results? Compare the scope of work, costs, and other recorded data. Ask for confirmed reasons to be separated from assumptions.
How was the final amount calculated? Ask to see the transactions, selection criteria, and gaps in the data.

If you do not have ChatGPT (OpenAI) yet

Registration, access, and app installation are explained below. If you are ready, proceed to connecting the 101 plugin.

How to create a ChatGPT (OpenAI) account

For registration from Russia, the 101 team recommends Gmail, Google’s email service. If you do not have it, you can create a free email account with Proton Mail. You may not need a phone number when registering with Proton, but the service may request verification through another email address, an SMS code (a text message to your phone), or an “I’m not a robot” check.

Open the official ChatGPT website, register, and verify your email if you receive a message from OpenAI. Gmail is a recommendation, not a requirement.

If ChatGPT (OpenAI) does not open from Russia

You may need a VPN, a service that connects through another country. Turn it on before opening ChatGPT and signing in. The 101 team recommends MasterCloud, a separate service that does not belong to OpenAI or 101.

Russia is currently absent from the list of countries supported by ChatGPT. A VPN does not guarantee access: OpenAI may restrict or block an account used from an unsupported country.

How to install ChatGPT (OpenAI) on your phone

iPhone. ChatGPT is unavailable in the Russian App Store, Apple’s app marketplace. Installation requires an Apple Account region where the app is available. A VPN does not change the store region.

How to change the App Store region on an iPhone

First spend any remaining Apple Account balance. Cancel subscriptions that prevent the change and wait until the paid period ends. Complete pending pre-orders, rentals, and refunds. A family group may also prevent a region change, and some content may become unavailable afterwards.

Tap your name in the iPhone’s “Settings”.
Open “Media & Purchases”. Sign in to your Apple Account if prompted.
Under “Country/Region”, select a country where ChatGPT is available.
Tap “Continue” and accept the terms by tapping “Agree”.
If “None” (no payment method) is available, select it. You will not need to enter bank card details.
Fill in the required fields for the selected country: name, address, and phone number if Apple requests them. Tap “Done”. These fields may be required even without a bank card.
Open ChatGPT in the App Store. Check that the developer is OpenAI OpCo, LLC, and install the app.

If “None” is not available, Apple may require a payment method for the new country. You will not be able to complete these steps without one. For restrictions and troubleshooting, see Apple’s region change instructions (in Russian). Menu names may differ between versions of iOS, the iPhone operating system.

Android. Open the ChatGPT page in RuStore, an Android app marketplace. Before installing, check the developer, OpenAI, and the app description, including the “Uploaded from an external source” label. Then sign in to ChatGPT and connect the 101 plugin. Country access restrictions still apply.
